  • WEAVING FOR WOMEN

In Chiapas is said that it was the Goddesses who created the textiles and thought women how to weave. They still appear in dreams and announce girls when they should dedicate to this important task. When this happends, the girls must listen, if she doesn’t she risks to get ill.

Weaving is an art form almost exclusive to women since they are wiser; it is beyond any man’s understanding, is too complicated. Women are so wise that it's believed that men who hold political charges are unable to properly exercise their functions if they are not married.
